UAE hikes fuel prices by another 1% in March

Petrol and diesel prices in the United Arab Emirates are set to rise at least 1 percent in March compared to February, according to the ministry of energy.

 

Starting March 1, top grade Super 98 will cost AED 2.03 per liter (up 1.5 percent from AED 2), Special 95 will cost AED 1.92 (up 1.6 percent from AED 1.89) and E Plus will cost AED 1.85 (up 1.6 percent from AED 1.82).

 

Diesel will cost AED 2.02, an increase of 1 percent from AED 2.

 

Fuel prices in the UAE are set every month by a committee led by the ministry of energy, and are linked to global crude prices.

 

International benchmark Brent crude has gained strength since OPEC and non-member producers agreed to deal to reduce output in a bid to stabilize the oil markets. The agreement came in to effect starting Jan 1.
