Minister of Transport and Logistics, Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, revealed that there are currently 22 investment opportunities in the sector, the most prominent of which is the preparation of four regional airports to be offered to the private sector, according to the state-owned Saudi Press Agency.

The Saudi National Transport and Logistics Strategy entails huge investments exceeding SAR 600 billion. Accordingly, it is necessary to capitalize on the financing sources, expand public-private partnerships (PPPs) and bolster business growth, Al-Jasser said, during his participation in the Municipal Investment Forum (Furas).

He also revealed that the ministry has reached an advanced stage on establishing the Saudi road code, with the aim of raising the road quality index, which will be a technical reference for the authorities responsible for roads at all levels.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman launched, on June 29, 2021, the Saudi National Transport and Logistics Strategy. It seeks to enhance the Kingdom’s position as a global logistic hub that links the three continents. It also aims to increase the sector's contribution to GDP to 10% from 6%, as well as empower the growth of businesses and expand investments.
