Transport authority launches first electric passenger bus in Jeddah

The Transport General Authority (TGA) launched the first electric passenger bus in Jeddah. The bus operates on a battery, which enables it to travel 300 km on a single charge.

 

According to a tweet by Emirate of Makkah Province, the bus will serve residents of the province within the public transport routes.

 

TGA Chairman Rumaih Al-Rumaih said that public transportation is one of the solutions to reduce traffic congestion, and it will also be provided with clean energy through electric buses.

 

Saudi Arabia has several projects that preserve the environment, including reducing emissions by vehicles, Al-Rumaih told Al-Ekhbariya TV.
