Trump: Macron clueless about early G7 exit

US President Donald Trump dismissed French President Emmanuel Macron’s claim that he left the G7 Summit in Canada to work on a ceasefire between Israel and Iran, calling it incorrect.

 

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump wrote that the French President has no idea why he is heading back to Washington., and this it’s far beyond ceasefire.

 

Trump had departed the summit early amid rising tensions in the Middle East, stating he needed to return to the USA as quickly as possible.

 

Earlier, Macron told reporters that Trump had made an offer for a ceasefire between Israel and Iran, adding that if the US could secure a ceasefire, it would be a welcome move and one France would support.
