Xi urges de-escalation in Iran-Israel conflict

Chinese President Xi Jinping urged on June 19, greater diplomatic efforts to ease tensions between Israel and Iran, his remarks came during a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

 

State-run Xinhua News Agency quoted Xi as saying that achieving a cease-fire and halting hostilities is the top priority. He warned that military force is not a viable solution to international disputes.

 

Xi also called on major powers with regional influence to intensify their diplomatic efforts to help stabilize the situation.
