The Saudi Cabinet approved the regulations of the National Transportation Safety Center (NTSC), which, upon coming into effect, will replace the organizational arrangements for the center issued under Cabinet Resolution No. (340) dated Nov. 29, 2022.

The regulation, published in the Official Gazette, consists of 14 articles and will take effect from the date of publication.

The center aims to enhance safety levels across all modes of transportation by raising awareness and promoting a safety culture among stakeholders within and outside the sector. It will also issue advisory recommendations to relevant entities based on safety investigations, best practices, and relevant international experiences.

The center will have a board of directors chaired by the Minister of Transport and Logistics Services.

The center’s resources will consist of allocations from the state’s general budget, fees for services, activities, and consultancy provided by the center, along with donations, grants, endowments, and bequests accepted by the board in accordance with applicable regulations. This is in addition to other resources approved by the board, provided they do not conflict with laws and regulations.
