Most cryptocurrency prices rose during Thursday's trading session, amid monitoring of regulatory developments in the US and anticipation of monetary policy decisions from the Bank of England and the European Central Bank.
Bitcoin rose 1.15% to $86,956.40 at 11:57 am Makkah time, accounting for approximately 59.4% of the total cryptocurrency market capitalization.
Ethereum, the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, increased 0.65% to $2,839.68, while Ripple fell 0.8% to $1.8469.
The global cryptocurrency market capitalization stands at $2.92 trillion, with total trading volume over the past 24 hours reaching $116.21 billion, according to CoinMarketCap data.
The US Securities and Exchange Commission has begun formal proceedings to consider Nasdaq's application to list the BlackRock Bitcoin Premium Income fund, given that the fund is actively managed and relies on generating income through the sale of options contracts linked to the iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) fund, according to CoinGap.
