Saudi Cabinet approves regulatory frameworks for SEZ

The Saudi Cabinet, in a session held today, Dec. 30, chaired by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, approved the regulatory frameworks for the Kingdom’s special economic zones (SEZ), including Jazan, the Information Cloud Computing Zone, King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC), and Ras Al-Khair.

 

The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported that the Cabinet also approved the regulations for joint government committees.

 

In a separate decision, the Cabinet approved the abolition of the Tourism Development Council (TDC) and regional tourism development councils along with their organizational structures.

 

The Cabinet further approved amendments to the organization of the General Authority for Defense Development (GADD) and authorized the establishment of a commercial and economic office for the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in Riyadh.
