US oil inventories post 3.8M-barrel increase

US crude oil inventories increased at a higher-than-predicted pace to reach 3.8 million barrels in the week ended March 6.

 

According to a report released by the Energy Information Administration (EIA), this exceeded forecasts for a 1.1-million-barrel hike in crude stockpiles.
