Saudi Gulf Airlines is expected to launch services in the fourth quarter of the year, said Sulaiman Al Hamdan, president of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA).
Meanwhle, Jeddah’s new King Abdulaziz International Airport will likely open doors in the second half of 2016, he added. The soft launch of Al-Madinah Airport will start April 19, while the official inauguration date will be fixed soon, he was quoted as saying by Alriyadh newspaper.

Qatar Airways named its forthcoming Saudi Arabian carrier Al-Maha Airways. Al-Qahtani said it would launch services from Saudi Gulf Airlines in the kingdom, according to data compiled by Argaam.
Saudi industrial conglomerate Bin Laden Group won a 36-month contract in 2010 worth SAR 27.11 billion to revamp King Abdulaziz International Airport. The contracts were for the first phase of a development project that aimed to raise the airport's annual capacity to 30 million passengers per year.
