Saudi Prince Nawwaf bin Abdulaziz, special advisor to King Salman bin Abdulaziz, passed away on Tuesday at the age of 83, the kingdom’s Royal Court announced in a statement. The cause of the death was not revealed.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday at Makkah’s Grand Mosque.
Prince Nawwaf, the 22nd son of King Abdulaziz al-Saud, was a senior member of ruling royal family and a close ally of the late King Abdullah.
He was named finance minister in 1961 and was later appointed chief of general intelligence from 2001 to 2005.
