Saudi Telecom Co. (STC) will study unified license requirements to determine the possible services it can provide in light of the regulations that will be issued by the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC).
The kingdom’s largest telecom operator clarified that it currently has a comprehensive license to provide fixed-line, mobile and data services.
STC added that it sees no material impact on its financial results from the extension of its operating license.
The Capital Market Authority (CMA), Saudi Arabia’s market regulator, suspended trading in shares of Saudi-listed telcos starting October 2, until the companies can disclose financial impact related to license extensions and the issuance of unified licenses.
