Jabal Omar says petition against SAR 357 mln Zakat claims rejected

Jabal Omar Development Co.'s petition to the Appeal Committee for Zakat and Tax Violations and Disputes to reconsider a decision against the former to pay Zakat claims of SAR 357 million for 2012-2018 was turned down, according to a statement to Tadawul today, Aug. 8.

This will result in the company's commitment to pay the Zakat assessments for the aforementioned years, it added.

Jabal Omar received, on Jan. 23, an order issued by Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) to execute the Appeal Committee for Zakat and Tax Violations and Disputes’ Zakat claim decision, according to Argaam's data.

According to the company’s financial statements ended on Sept. 30, 2022, the Zakat allocation for the aforesaid years stood at SAR 133 million.
