Saudi German Health CEO says inpatient count jumps 12% in Q2

Ahmed Shebl, CEO, Middle East Healthcare Co. (Saudi German Health)

Middle East Healthcare Co. (Saudi German Health) experienced a significant 12% year-on-year (YoY) increase in the number of inpatients and a 3% YoY rise in outpatient visits during Q2 2025. This improvement supported revenue growth and enhanced operational efficiency, CEO Ahmed Shebl told Argaam.

The company’s net profit reached SAR 64 million in Q2 2025, up 47% YoY, after excluding a non-recurring SAR 20 million gain from a land sale recorded in the same period last year, he added.

Shebl clarified that the 11% increase in revenue to SAR 791 million was driven by a rise in patient numbers and a higher volume of surgical procedures, in addition to the contributions from the operation agreement of Mina Emergency Hospital during the Hajj season and the expansion of the group’s capacity.

Saudi German Health witnessed a major capacity expansion at the Dammam hospital, where the number of beds increased from 150 to 300 in Q2 2025, enhancing the hospital’s ability to accommodate more patients.

The group performed over 13,000 surgeries across various specialties in Q2 2025, reflecting the efficiency of its medical teams and their ability to meet growing demand for surgical services, which directly supported revenue growth.

Saudi German Health aims to maintain strong performance, as the group’s 2025 strategy is focused on carefully expanding its network of hospitals and comprehensive clinics throughout the Kingdom. It also emphasizes establishing more outpatient clinics, boosting bed capacity, and renovating existing hospitals to elevate the patient experience and improve healthcare service quality.

Accordingly, the group has started executing the expansion project of Saudi German Hospital Jeddah. The project includes the construction of a new medical tower with 207 beds and 14 clinics, at a total cost of SAR 399 million.

In addition, the group continues to strengthen its footprint in the Eastern Province, announcing last month the launch of 21 additional clinics within the Saudi German Hospital Dammam building, in response to growing demand and to broaden the scope of services offered to a wider patient base across different regions.

Shebl assured the group’s commitment to delivering world-class medical services while maintaining high operational efficiency that supports sustainable growth.

According to Argaam data, Saudi German Health’s net profit rose to SAR 223.8 million in H1 2025, compared to SAR 106.9 million in H1 2024. Q2 profit reached SAR 63.7 million.
