Sipchem to start trial operation of its LDPE and EVA units in Jubail Industrial City

Saudi International Petrochemical Co. (SIPCHEM) will start on July 26 trial operation of its ethylene -vinyl acetate (EVA) and low density polyethylene  (LDPE) plants owned by its affiliate International Polymers Company, at its complex in Jubail Industrial City, the company said in a statement to the Saudi bourse, Tadawul.

 

The financial impact of the SAR 3 -billion projects will be reflected when the commercial operations starts in the 1st quarter of 2015, it added.

 

In June, Sipchem said all installations of the EVA and LDPE plant were completed, according to Argaam.

 

The units will produce 200,000 tons of EVA and LDPE, key components for down stream industries, the company said.

 

Sipchem owns 75 percent of International Polymers Company (IPC) while Hanwha Chemical Company of Korea owns 25 percent.
