Bupa Arabia for Cooperative Insurance Co. posted a net profit before zakat and income tax of SAR 94 million for Q1 2019, compared to a net profit of SAR 9.3 million a year earlier.
The profit surge was attributed to a 37 percent increase in net underwriting results. Investment and other income also jumped 45 percent. Net earned premium also rose 13.4 percent YoY.
When compared to the previous quarter, Bupa’s net profit before zakat rose 1.8 percent thanks to improved underwriting results and a decline in doubtful debt provisions.
