Saudi Arabia records 1,428 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday

The total number of coronavirus cases in Saudi Arabia increased by 1,428 to 288,690 on Sunday, August 9, the Ministry of Health announced today.

 

Recoveries reached 1,599, bringing the total number of recovered cases to 252,039, representing 87% of total registered cases.

 

Thirty-seven new death cases were reported, while the death toll hit 3,167.

 

The total active cases currently receiving treatment amounted to 33,484 cases, of which 1,816 are critical.

 

In addition, a total of 152 cases were reported in Makkah, Riyadh (106), Hufof (68), Jazan (59), and Jeddah (57).

 

A total of 60,846 tests were conducted today, bringing the total number of tests to 3.81 million.
