Shams names Farid Al Sayed as CEO

Tourism Enterprise Co.’s (Shams) board of directors approved, on Sept. 21, a recommendation by the nomination and remuneration committee to appoint Farid Al Sayed as chief executive officer, effective from Sept. 21, 2020.

 

Al Sayed has over 20 years’ experience in the financial and accounting fields, during which he held many leading positions in different companies across the Arab world, the company said in a bourse statement.

 

He served in Shams as a financial advisor from September 28, 2018 until April 11, 2020, when he was appointed as the company’s chief financial officer, in addition to his job last year as the director of resort operations.

 

In a separate statement, Shams said that its board also approved appointing Ahmed Sulaiman as chief financial officer effective Sept. 21, 2020.

 

Sulaiman has over 14 years’ experience in finance and has been serving as Shams’ chief accountant since July 7, 2019 until now.
