Riyadh will be ready to host World Expo 2030, Fahd Al-Rasheed, President of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC), said on Dec. 14 during a virtual meeting held by Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) in Paris. The host country of World Expo 2030 will then be elected in 2023

Expo 2030 will coincide with the realization of Vision 2030 and will be an exceptional opportunity for the vision achievements, and valuable lessons from that unprecedented transformation.

These lessons could be applied on a broader level to provide solutions for the key challenges faced by the world, Al-Rasheed noted, adding that Riyadh will be a prosperous and sustainable city, and the favorite destination for talents and companies.

Pitches for the six-month World Expo 2030 were made by Saudi Arabia, Russia, South Korea, Italy and Ukraine.

In October, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman announced that Saudi Arabia submitted an official bid to the BIE to host Expo 2030 under the theme “The era of change: Leading the planet to a foresighted tomorrow” from Oct. 1, 2030 to April 1, 2031, Argaam reported.
