ACWA Power converts UAE’s Hassyan power plant from clean coal to natural gas

ACWA Power converted the operations of Hassyan power plant from clean coal to natural gas.

 

Hassyan Power Plant is a 2400-megawatt (MW) project located in Dubai, the utility said in a statement to Tadawul.

 

The conversion will result in an entirely coal-free ACWA Power portfolio, which comes in line with the company’s strategy to lead the way to de-carbonization and focus predominantly on renewables and transitional low CO2 projects and to its 2050 net-zero emissions target.

 

ACWA Power owns net stake of 26.95% of Hassyan power plant, the statement added.
