The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's flag
Saudi Arabia's international reserve assets declined by SAR 9.9 million month-on-month (MoM) to SAR 1.740 trillion in July, according to the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA).
On a yearly basis, the Kingdom’s reserve assets grew 5%, or SAR 84.5 billion.
Saudi Arabia’s reserve assets include five items, which are investments in foreign securities, foreign currency deposits, International Monetary Fund (IMF) reserve position, special drawing rights (SDRs), and monetary gold.

SAMA attributed the rise in July’s reserve assets to an increase in foreign currency reserves, representing about 95% of total assets, by about 2% year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 1.647 trillion.
SDRs leaped 144% by the end of July, while the IMF reserve position declined 1%.
