Qassim Governor launches SAR 272 mln SPIMACO-AstraZeneca factory

Governor of Qassim Region, Faisal bin Mishaal, launched a new plant for the production of hazardous drugs, in partnership with global pharmaceutical firm AstraZeneca, at a total cost of SAR 272 million.

 

This came during Qassim Investment Forum held at King Khalid Civilization Center in Buraydah.

 

The plant spans 2,800 square meters. It is considered an industrial unit launched by Saudi Pharmaceutical Industries and Medical Appliances Corp. (SPIMACO).

 

The new plant has three floors, including manufacturing and packaging zones, a laboratory for quality control and quality assurance, and a technical services' zone that incorporates water and wastewater treatment systems, adopting global standards for the manufacturing of hazardous drugs.
