The General Transport Authority (TGA) inaugurated today, Oct. 16, the intercity bus passenger services in the Kingdom, in the presence of Minister of Transport and Logistic Services, Saleh Al-Jasser.

Last February, TGA signed concession contracts for intercity bus transport in the Kingdom, including the Southern concession contract with Saudi Public Transport Co. (SAPTCO), Argaam’s data showed.

The Northern concession contract was concluded with Darb Alwatan Co., while the one for the Northwest was sealed with Saudi Al Qaid Transportation Co. and Spain-based Moventis.

The project serves six million passengers yearly in 200 cities through 76 bus routes, creating more than 35,000 jobs and adding SAR 3.2 billion to the Saudi GDP.
