Saudi Cable gets SAR 41M reduction on Zakat differences with ZATCA

Saudi Cable Co. (SCC) reached a settlement with the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority (ZATCA) and received a letter from the Zakat and Tax Disputes Settlement Committee on Dec. 19, pertaining to Zakat differences for the years 2015 to 2018.

 

The company said ZATCA issued a Zakat assessment for differences of SAR 144.98 million, and the company submitted a settlement request to ZATCA’s settlement committees, according to a statement to Tadawul

 

After reviewing the request, the company reached a settlement amounting to SAR 103.97 million, with a reduction of SAR 41.01 million. 

 

Saudi Cable recorded a Zakat provision of SAR 144.98 million in its financial statements for the period ended Dec. 31, 2022, to address this Zakat assessment. 

 

The company's management took steps to adjust the potential Zakat liabilities with ZACTA, the statement added, noting that the firm also submitted Zakat declarations for the years 2021 and 2022. 

 

Saudi Cable expects a positive impact on reversing a Zakat provision by SAR 41.01 million.
