Riyadh Air is working on expanding its network of partnerships with established carriers around the world, as it seeks to build global ties ahead of its market debut next year, Bloomberg reported, citing sources.

The airline is close to announcing an accord with a major Southeast Asian carrier in coming days, the report said.

The Public Investment Fund (PIF)-backed airline is also working on agreements with Indian and US airlines for long-haul flights.

The partnerships are likely to give Riyadh Air instant access to the wide networks that its partners already serve, while providing feeder services to those destinations.

The company already entered agreements last year with Turkish Airlines, which flies to more destinations than any other carrier. Riyadh Air already has an existing accord with Saudia, the Kingdom’s flag carrier.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman announced in March 2023 the establishment of Riyadh Air by the PIF. The new airline aims to contribute to the development of the aviation sector and enhance the kingdom's strategic position, Argaam earlier reported.
