Minister of Transport and Logistic Services approved granting establishments that have vehicle lease contracts from licensees in the car rental activity an exemption to use them for delivery of orders.

The exemption was granted from the application of Article 13/A of the regulations governing light goods transport on roads until the expiry of those contracts.

The Transport General Authority (TGA) called on establishments licensed to transport goods, which have vehicles operating under the operational leasing system and rented by a light transport establishment licensed to provide car rental services, to provide TGA with the data of those vehicles and a copy of their leasing contracts. This will allow TGA to issue operating permits for those vehicles.

The authority stipulated that this should not exceed the lease contract expiry date, with all other requirements stated in the regulations being applied. A 30-day period has been granted to provide TGA with the necessary data.
