US stocks opened higher today, Feb. 24, as investors capitalized on last week's losses, while anticipating Nvidia's earnings report and key economic data later this week.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 0.25% (114 points) to 43,542 at 5:32 PM Makkah time.

The S&P 500 rose 0.3% to 6,024 points, while the Nasdaq Composite gained 0.2% (35 points) to 19,548 points.

Last week, the Dow Jones, S&P 500, and Nasdaq Composite recorded losses of 2.5%, 1.6%, and 2.5%, respectively.

These declines followed economic data that sparked concerns about the growth trajectory of the world’s largest economy. The S&P Global Services PMI contracted in February, while the consumer confidence index came in weaker than expected.

Nvidia's earnings report is scheduled for release after the market closes on Feb. 19, drawing investor attention for insights into the chipmaker’s AI-related spending plans. Additionally, the personal consumption expenditures (PCE) index—a key inflation gauge—will be released on Feb. 28.
