Residential mortgages granted to individuals by banks in Saudi Arabia leapt 10% year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 8.4 billion in March 2025, data issued by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) showed.

 

Banks signed 11,100 residential mortgage contracts with individuals during the month, according to SAMA data.

 

The average value of new residential mortgages rose 2% YoY to SAR 756,000.

 

Financing for residential villas accounted for the largest share of total bank mortgages in March, reaching SAR 5.18 billion, or 62% of the total. Residential apartments followed with SAR 2.79 billion, while land plots accounted for SAR 415 million.
