US natural gas inventories rose for the third successive week, adding 110 billion cubic feet (bcf) during the week ended May 9, exceeding expectations of a 111-bcf increase.
Data issued by the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) today, May 15, showed that total natural gas inventories stood at 2.25 trillion cubic feet (tcf), down 14.3% from the same week last year.
Additionally, inventories were 2.6% over the five-year average (2020-2024) of 2.19 tcf.
