Saudi holdings of US Treasuries rise by $5.2B in March

Saudi Arabia’s holdings of US Treasuries reached $131.6 billion in March, up by $5.2 billion month-on-month (MoM), new data released by the US Treasury showed.

 

Accordingly, Saudi Arabia maintained its 17th place among the largest holders of US Treasuries for the month.

 

 

Saudi Arabia’s holdings of US Treasuries were distributed among long-term bonds worth $103.9 billion, representing 79% of the total, with short-term bonds amounting to $27.7 billion (or 21%).

 

Japan was the top holder of US Treasury bonds in March, with about $1.13 trillion, followed by the United Kingdom with $779.3 billion.
