Al-Jouf Agricultural Development Co. signed a partnership agreement with South Korea’s E Green Global (EGG) to localize the production of high-quality potato seeds via the latest global technologies.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture (MEWA), the agreement was signed today, May 31, in Riyadh, in the presence of Minister Abdulrahman Al-Fadley.

The ministry stated that the agreement aims to support Saudi Arabia’s food security goals and reduce imports of potato seeds, which currently amount to approximately SAR 200 million annually. The project is expected to generate a cumulative agricultural output of around SAR 500 million by 2034.

The ministry also noted that local production of high-quality potato seeds is anticipated to begin in 2026.
