Al-Jouf Agricultural Development Co. signed an agreement with National Grid SA, a wholly owned subsidiary of Saudi Electricity Co. (SEC), to develop an electricity transmission station, according to a Tadawul statement.

The station will serve the company’s site in Basita Center in Al-Jouf Province, with a transmission capacity of 168 MVA. It is part of the liquid fuel displacement program (LFDP) as outlined in the signed agreement, which is valid until Dec. 31, 2026, or until the project is completed.

The agreement is an extension of the efforts within the energy, environment, as well as water and agriculture sectors to achieve the LFDP’s objectives.

The project will contribute to reducing emissions from the use of liquid fuel in electricity generation at the company’s facilities.

The move will enhance the reliability of the operational network and facilitate the transition to the power grid without any significant financial impact on the company, the statement said.
