US President Donald Trump
US President Donald Trump called on Iran to "unconditionally surrender," threatening to escalate the conflict in the Middle East by targeting Tehran's top leaders.
Trump declared in a social media post Tuesday, "We now have complete and total control of the skies over Iran", adding, "Iran had good sky trackers and other defensive equipment, and plenty of it, but it doesn't compare to American-made, conceived, and manufactured 'stuff.' Nobody does it better than the good ol' USA."
“We know exactly where the so-called ‘Supreme Leader’ is hiding,” he added in his post.
“He is an easy target, but is safe there - We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now. But we don’t want missiles shot at civilians, or American soldiers. Our patience is wearing thin.”
This came as the US confirmed that it is not getting involved in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran, while maintaining its defensive position in the region, amid efforts by US legislators to ensure non-involvement in this war.
Earlier this morning, Trump cut short his attendance at the G7 summit in Canada, and returned to Washington to follow up on updates to the conflict in the Middle East. He reportedly instructed his administration to convene an urgent meeting with Iranian officials.
