US begins evacuation of citizens from Israel

US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee said the embassy began working on an evacuation plan for American citizens by both air and sea, urging those wishing to leave to follow updates through a designated government platform.
 
Huckabee said on social messaging platform X, on June 18, that arrangements are underway for air and sea evacuations of US citizens in Israel.
 
This came after the US embassy in Israel announced it would be closed until at least next Friday.
