Container shipping company Maersk suspended its shipping operations to Israel’s Haifa Port amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.
In a statement issued Friday, the Danish company confirmed that no other disruptions were observed in its scheduled operations across the region, Reuters reported.
Following a thorough assessment of threat risk reports related to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran—particularly the potential dangers of calling at Israeli ports— Maersk said it took this proactive measure to safeguard its crew.
The company emphasized that the safety of its seafarers and operations remain a top priority, noting that it is in close contact with customers who may be affected and is working to provide alternative transport solutions to minimize disruptions.
