The US State Department issued a warning to Americans traveling around the world, citing the potential for demonstrations against US citizens as the war between Israel and Iran has resulted in travel disruptions globally.
"The conflict between Israel and Iran has resulted in disruptions to travel and periodic closure of airspace across the Middle East (ME)," the State Department said in its Worldwide Caution advisory. "There is potential for demonstrations against US citizens and interests abroad.
The Department of State advises US citizens worldwide to exercise increased caution."
Iran threatened on June 22 US bases in the ME after massive air strikes that Washington said had destroyed Tehran's nuclear program, though some officials cautioned that the extent of damage was unclear.
