Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi — currently visiting Moscow — stated that Russia and Iran are coordinating their positions regarding the ongoing escalation in the Middle East, TASS news agency reported.
Araghchi arrived in Moscow on Sunday for critical diplomatic consultations with Russian officials, amid mounting tensions, particularly following recent US strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities.
In an earlier press conference, as reported by The Wall Street Journal, Araghchi said: “Russia is a friend of Iran; we always consult and coordinate our positions.”
He added that Iran had briefed Moscow on its latest negotiations with the United States regarding its nuclear program and intends to hold serious consultations with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the upcoming developments.
