Kremlin rejects foreign interference in Iran’s internal affairs

The future of Iran's leadership is a matter solely for the Iranian people to decide, and not any third country, the Kremlin stated today, June 23, in response to US President Donald Trump’s recent call for regime change in Iran.

Russia was not informed in advance by the US about the strikes on Iran, Kremlin said, noting that discussions on Iran, Ukraine, and bilateral relations with Washington are proceeding on separate tracks.

When asked about Iran’s expectations from Russia, the Kremlin said that Iran’s Foreign Minister will present Tehran’s proposals during his visit to Moscow later today.

The Kremlin also noted that the fate of Iran’s nuclear facilities following the US strikes, as well as the resulting radiological situation, are still being assessed. It emphasized that communication channels with the US remain open
