Iran-Israel ceasefire agreement in effect

24/06/2025 Argaam

A ceasefire agreement between Iran and Israel officially came into effect today, June 24, coinciding with the deadline previously set by US President Donald Trump, midnight Eastern Time (7:00 a.m. Makkah time).

However, the Israeli military said it detected a sixth wave of Iranian missile attacks following Trump’s ceasefire announcement, and issued warnings to residents.

Iranian media, however, stated that the final barrage of missiles was launched prior to the ceasefire taking effect. Press TV reported that the ceasefire between Tehran and Tel Aviv had indeed come into force, following overnight missile strikes that continued into the early morning hours.

On the other side, Israeli public broadcasting confirmed the ceasefire's implementation and noted that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had informed members of his cabinet about the agreement, instructing them not to make any public statements on the matter.
