US natural gas inventories rose more than expected, adding 96 billion cubic feet (bcf) during the week ended June 20, exceeding expectations for an 89-bcf increase.
Additionally, inventories were 6.3% below the level recorded in the same week last year. However, they remained 6.6% above the five-year average of 2.71 trillion cubic feet, data by the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) showed today, June 26.
