Residential mortgages provided by banks to individuals dropped by 4% year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 7.4 billion in May, data issued by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) showed.
 
 

Mortgages for residential villas accounted for the largest share of total bank financing, amounting to SAR 4.99 billion or 68% of the total in May. Apartments followed with SAR 1.85 billion, while land plots came in third at SAR 534 million.
