The US economy added more jobs than expected in June, while the unemployment rate saw a decline, easing concerns about the state of the US labor market.
According to data released today, July 3, by the Department of Labor, the US added 147,000 jobs, following 144,000 in May's upwardly revised reading from 139,000.
This compares to estimates of 110,000 new jobs. Meanwhile, the unemployment rate fell to 4.1%.
