Diriyah inks SAR 5.8B construction contract for Arena project

Diriyah Company has awarded a contract worth SAR 5.75 billion to Branch of China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd for the construction works of The Diriyah Arena project. The project encompasses the multi-purpose indoor Diriyah Arena, three mixed-use office buildings, and a parking facility.

Diriyah Company stated in a statement today, that the contract is the largest in a series of major projects announced by the company since the beginning of 2025.

The Diriyah Arena, which will have a gross floor area (GFA) of approximately 74,000 square meters, will include three mixed-use office plots designed by international architects John McAslan + Partners. The three plots cover approximately 114,000 square meters. The contract also includes over 4,000 parking spaces to support both Diriyah Arena events and office facilities.

The Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA) began phase one of the SAR 75 billion restoration and development of historic Diriyah in June 2020. Its seven-square-kilometer masterplan features a wide range of tourism, entertainment, and cultural destinations, according to data available with Argaam.
