The official gazette published the full details of the newly approved organizational framework for the Saudi Irrigation Organization, following the Cabinet’s approval.

The 16-article regulations provide that the organization has independent legal personality with financial and administrative autonomy, reporting to the Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture. Headquartered in Al-Ahsa, the organization may establish branches or offices across the Kingdom as needed.

Under Article 3, the organization aims to regulate the activities and services related to irrigation, dams, and the reuse of treated water in the Kingdom, as well as to monitor, operate, and develop these activities.

Meanwhile, Article 4 states that the organization will be responsible for managing, operating, and developing irrigation, dam, and treated water reuse activities in the Kingdom. It is also authorized—without prejudice to the powers of other government entities—to take all necessary actions to achieve its objectives.
