Riyadh Municipality adopts new regulations for urban planning

Riyadh Municipality, in cooperation with the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, has enacted new regulations for sanctioning the development of urban plans in Riyadh.

 

The regulations mandate real estate developers to complete all infrastructure and public realm items before starting construction, the ministry stated on the X platform.

 

It includes all works of paving, electricity, water, sewage, storm drainage, park establishment, lighting, internet, landscaping, public realms, street planning and furniture, sidewalks and pathways for pedestrians and cyclists, as well as name signs.

 

The objective of the new regulations is to develop all infrastructure items in order to enhance the quality of services provided and ensure their delivery before construction begins. Moreover, it will help in minimizing repetitive excavation works, humanizing residential neighborhoods, and providing public space areas, the municipality clarified, adding that the targeted groups are engineering offices and real estate development entities.
