Saudi Arabia's active oil rigs declined for the sixth consecutive month, reaching 20 in July, down from 46 rigs in early 2024, according to Baker Hughes data.

 

The following table shows the changes in onshore and offshore rigs in Saudi Arabia during the first seven months of 2025:

The internal oil rig count declined 92 units year-on-year in July to 1,621. However, it rose 22 units compared to the previous month.

 

Meanwhile, the number of active oil rigs in the Middle East fell to 334 units in July on a monthly basis, marking a year-on-year decrease of 11 units.
