Public education students in 11 regions and Al-Ahsa Governorate returned to school today, Aug. 24, at the start of the new academic year, the Ministry of Education said.

Students in Makkah, Madinah, Jeddah, and Taif will resume classes next week, in line with the academic calendar, it added.

The ministry said it had finalized preparations for the new year, ensuring the readiness of 32,000 public schools across the Kingdom under its strategic plan to empower schools, boost operational efficiency, and strengthen governance. Operations, maintenance, and school environment quality management have been assigned to Tatweer Education Holding Co.

It added that all sectors were aligned for a smooth start to the year, with committees and specialized departments completing their work across directorates, education offices, and schools. Field teams continue to conduct visits and monitor school activities through a system involving teaching, supervisory, and administrative staff.
