Faddy AlAql, Chief Asset Delivery Officer at the King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD), said more than 580,000 square meters (sqm) of office space have been leased at the district.

In an interview with Al-Eqtisadiah, AlAql added that the number of KAFD employees currently exceeds 20,000, distributed across more than 100 local and international companies. This includes the Public Investment Fund, Aramco, and 19 regional offices of major firms such as Goldman Sachs, PepsiCo, and Bain & Company.

He expects this growth to continue through 2026, with more companies being attracted to the district.

Further, the official pointed out that the company is completing the development of several construction sites, including public facilities, infrastructure projects, office spaces, as well as international hotels and hospitality facilities. He noted that preparations are underway for the opening of the "Kimpton KAFD" hotel.

AlAql explained that several infrastructure projects are being finalized, which will add 7,000 new parking spaces soon, in addition to 2,000 existing visitor spots. This will address entry, exit, and parking challenges as the number of residents, visitors, and employees grows.

Regarding the electric monorail project, AlAql said it is still in the design phase, with construction expected to begin at the start of Q4 2025.

He noted that trial operations are scheduled for early 2027, with public operation planned before the end of the same year.

According to Argaam data, KAFD is one of the largest ongoing projects in the Saudi capital, located in northern Riyadh and spanning 1.6 million sqm.
