Sinopec wins engineering contract for ACWA Power’s green hydrogen project in Yanbu

China-based Sinopec Group announced today, Aug. 26, agreeing to provide engineering services for ACWA Power Co. to build the world’s largest integrated green hydrogen and green ammonia project in the Saudi Arabia.

 

The project, to be built in Yanbu, will boast an annual production capacity 400,000 metric tons of green hydrogen and 2.8 million tons of green ammonia, using wind and solar power, Reuters reported, citing Sinopec.

 

It added that commercial operation of the project is slated to start in 2030.
