Wataniya reappoints Hussien Akeil as Chairman; Faisal Charara named Vice Chairman

Wataniya Insurance Co. received, on Aug. 28, approval from the Insurance Authority (IA) to reappoint Hussein Akeil as Chairman of the board of directors and to appoint Faisal Charara as Vice Chairman, as well as to form the board committees.

In a statement to Tadawul, the company said the executive committee was formed with Faisal Charara as Chairman (non-executive), Haitham Albakree as member (executive), Murtaza Quettawala as member (executive), Sohail Abbas as member (executive), and Peter Choueiri as independent member.

The nomination and remuneration Committee was formed with Sami Alhalabi as independent Chairman, Raed Sater as independent member, and Faisal Charara as member (non-executive).

The investment committee was formed with Faisal Badran as independent Chairman, Bernd Van Linder as independent member, and Haitham Albakree as member (executive).

The risk management committee was formed with Amin Afifi as Chairman (non-Executive), Nedhal Radwan as independent member, and Omar Hashim as independent member.

The audit committee was formed with Asim Alhattami as independent Chairman, Omar Hashim as independent member, and Shirish Bhide as independent member.

The company added that Nada AlMalki was appointed as board secretary, Haitham Albakree was appointed as CEO and managing director.
